Chronology of cameras Mamiya
This small 16 mm camera is part of a rich family of several models that Mamiya developed throughout the 50s and early 60s These models are more or less technically advanced but all remain very small. Only the addition of a cell did make a change in the size.
This model is simple. The shooting distance must be estimated then be transferred to the slider above the lens. The viewfinder is provided with a marking for a (manual) correction of the parallax below 1 meter. It also has a yellow filter (improving the black and white contrast).
The aperture adjustment is done by a second slider, above the device. Always on top, but on the back, another slider adjusts the speed. All this fits in a few square centimeters.
